It was an absolute honour to attend the Black Women Risinguk event this week to celebrate the incredible Candice Brathwaite becoming a Patron.

Hosted at the stunning Estée Lauder offices in London, guests enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast before hearing from Founder Leanne Pero and an inspiring panel, including the amazing Dawn Butler, Leeanne Adu and Kehinde Popola.

Candice spoke so movingly about her reasons for supporting #BWR and her hopes for her Patronage. 🎀 In the UK, black women face alarming disparities when it comes to breast cancer – with higher rates of late-stage diagnosis, more aggressive tumour types, and lower survival rates compared to white women.

This is why the Pink Ribbon Foundation proudly supports Leanne's Black Women Rising Cancer Support Project, created in 2019 to make real change.

We can't wait to see how Candice uses her platform to champion this vital cause. Thank you Leanne for the invite, and to Estée Lauder for your generous hospitality (and the fabulous goody bag)! 🛍️ ✨
