Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a genetic condition predisposing individuals to benign and malignant tumours.

It is often characterised by the presence of 6 or more café-au-lait marks on the skin. For more information please go to @childhoodtumourtrust

Women with NF1 have an up to five-fold increased risk of developing breast cancer before the age of 50 years. It is important to be breast cancer aware to ensure prompt attendance for a breast concern and to recognise the potential warning signs for an earlier diagnosis and better prognosis.

EVERYONE should check monthly for signs of breast cancer, you can download our guide via our website.
