Dr Pam Spurr is an award-winning broadcaster, psychologist, life coach and self-help expert. After six years in the NHS, she started working privately and now appears regularly on TV and radio, whilst also writing for numerous newspapers and magazine columns. She is the author of 15 self-help books and is often called upon to give her expert opinion. One of her great passions is painting, which after raising her family, she has thrown herself back into. Her inspiration comes from the incredible people (mainly women) that she meets usually in a professional capacity. The powerful stories that she has the privilege of hearing, cover subjects such as loss and renewal, self-esteem, confidence, body issues, relationship breakdowns, new relationships, addictive issues and other challenges. These themes are seen by Dr Pam as colours and images and she is able later to put these sensations onto paper to create her unique, expressionistic and abstract art. Textures are created using not only brushes, but also with sponges, sandpaper, twigs, feathers, tiny sponges and even a mango in one painting!
Pink Grass is available to purchase with 100% profits being donated to the Pink Ribbon Foundation to support those affected by breast cancer. The painting was inspired by a female client who faced many challenges, but who was entering a creative period in her life. She shared her dream about 'pink grass' which seemed to be a symbol of hope to her. Her story is what inspired this painting of Pam's.
