Cancer is something that has personally affected members of the DB VAC team and their families. When deciding on a charity to support, we knew we wanted our fundraising to be connected to cancer and, importantly, to help make a difference to people experiencing the impact of a diagnosis firsthand. Cancer is something that has personally affected members of the DB VAC team and their families. When deciding on a charity to support, we knew we wanted our fundraising to be connected to cancer and, importantly, to help make a difference to people experiencing the impact of a diagnosis firsthand. We were introduced to the Pink Ribbon Foundation through Lisa, and after learning more about the work they do, we felt their approach was particularly aligned with what we wanted to support. The Pink Ribbon Foundation provides funding to charities and organisations that support people affected by breast cancer. While breast cancer predominantly affects women, it can also affect men. What particularly stood out to us was the practical and immediate nature of the support their grants can help provide. This can include services such as counselling, wig services, complementary therapies, well being programmes and respite breaks – supporting people and their families during treatment and beyond diagnosis. There are many incredible cancer charities funding vital research. We were particularly drawn to the Pink Ribbon Foundation because of its focus on helping organisations provide practical support to people who are experiencing the effects of breast cancer right now.
